About Ron

Ron Nickerson has spent the past 25 years working with children and their families in a variety of settings including residential facilities, psychiatric hospitals, social worker for kids in specialized foster care and Director of a 30 bed Youth Detention facility in Boston MA.

He has most recently opened his home to boys with Reactive Attachment Disorder. He has always encouraged the kids to do their best and holds high standard for each of the children he works with.

Throughout the years, Ron has used humor, playful sarcasm and bantering and most importantly unconditional acceptance to reach the youth that have often been viewed as unreachable and too oppositional to work with.

Looking outside the box to reach difficult kids is crucial. The kids nobody wants are the kids that are Masters at pushing people away.

Helping these kids lower their masks by accepting them unconditionally will in time allow the arrows to be pulled out and only then can the healing begin.
